Aims of the CFC
The philosophy of the clinic is that no person should suffer or die just because he or she is not capable of paying for his or her medical care.
The appalling state of the Nepalese health care system is hopelessly inadequate to meet even the basic health requirements of the people let alone fulfil such standards.

Even easily preventable diseases such as diarrhoea, malnutrition and acute respiratory infections accounts for 95% of all under-five mortality and morbidity.

Access to private medical care is expensive and therefore restricted to a privileged minority.
There is no public health insurance system.

Chhatrapati Free Clinic (CFC) has been in operation in Kathmandu since 1957 and it has tried to ease this critical condition by providing basic medical care for the poor and the unprivilaged.

A further aim is the overall improvement of medical diagnostics and therapy in Nepal.

It also campaigns to increase public awareness and improve unhealthy living conditions of the people by educating them about health and sanitation.

CFC conducts regularly special health camps at rural areas to reach out to the people who live without the comforts of basic humane living conditions.

To accomplish its ambitious goals, CFC is dependent on both public and private support.
